Would you be surprised to learn that there are a number of things you should do if you’re interested in keeping your teeth healthy and strong? For instance, you may know that you’ll need to floss and brush your teeth daily and visit your dentist on a regular basis. You may also know that another benefit of brushing and flossing is keeping your breath fresh. However, did you know that there are many causes of bad breath or that there are several foods you can use to help with bad breath?
It may surprise you to learn that one common cause of bad breath is bacteria. However, if you have a tooth that is injured, take certain medications, or are using tobacco products like cigarettes, you may have to cope with bad breath. Fortunately, there are also certain foods that will improve your breath. For example, crunchy foods, like celery or apples, can carry away bacteria producing food particles. Eating sugar-free or mint-flavored gum can have the same effect.
Did you know there are certain dairy products, such as cheese, a cup of milk, and unsweetened yogurt that can also help you keep your breath fresh? You see, acids from certain foods could also cause bad breath, but these dairy products will help you prevent bad breath. Other foods you may also want to consider using for bad breath include parsley, lemon, and cranberries.
