How to Keep Dental Problems at Bay

April 24, 2018

If you want a top-notch smile and good oral health, then there are certain things you need to do. One of those things is to prevent dental issues. Dental problems can destroy your teeth and gums if you let them, so it’s best to prevent them when you can. Our prosthodontist, Dr. Madalina Iorgulescu, would like to help you prevent dental issues by giving you the tips you need.

-Keep up on oral hygiene: It’s very important to brush your teeth twice a day, floss your teeth once a day and rinse your mouth with mouthwash daily. These things can help you prevent dental issues because they remove the bacteria, plaque and other dangerous substances from your teeth and gums daily.

-Attend your dental checkups: Your dental checkups are vital when preventing cavities and gum disease. This is because the cleaning treatment provided removes the plaque and tartar from your smile. So, make sure to attend your appointments every six months.

-Use fluoride: Fluoride is a natural mineral that helps you prevent dental issues. This is because it dives into the tooth enamel and strengthens it, helping to prevent cavities, enamel erosion, tooth cracks and more. So, make sure to expose your teeth to fluoride regularly.
